Department Activities

Departments structured to maintain quality and achieve greater efficiency

Aircraft manufacturing requires a high level of precision in even the most detailed parts. Accordingly, strict process control is one of the most important issues. Wada Aircraft Technology has optimally structured our departments and assigned our staff in order to realize a streamlined workflow which eliminates overburden, inconsistency, and waste. We also strive to heighten control awareness in each of our departments, and to achieve a production system which maintains a high level of quality while pursuing even greater efficiency.

General Affairs Department
In addition to being responsible for customer response (telephone inquiries, face-to-face meetings, etc.) and accounting, this department is also in charge of asset management such as the purchase of new facilities and equipment. Furthermore, in order to enable our staff to work with peace of mind, this department has designed an environment in which all departments are horizontally connected and allowing for smooth communication. Another responsibility is eliminating waste from workspace and creating an environment for heightened efficiency. The department also supports operation of the quality management system by handling quality records, storage management, and data acquisition.

General Affairs Department

Sales Department
Creates estimates by analyzing work content based on customer requests. Department responsibilities include ordering materials/supplies, arranging for outsourced processing, and reviewing manufacturing processes. The department also creates a Schedule Control Chart and Delivery Plan based on the master schedule. The created documents are used in delivery management and sales activities. The department strives to perform detailed schedule control for each process and to ensure on-time delivery.

Design Department
The responsibilities of the Design Department can be divided into 3 main categories: 1) Creation of NC processing data: Utilizes 3D CAM and CAD to create NC data for the operation of 3-axis and 5-axis NC machines. 2) Design: Designs molds, forming dies, jigs, and other tools which are required for productization of parts within our company or at customers: 3) Security: Constructs an advanced security system for preventing information leaks and conducts education to heighten risk awareness among employees.

Engineering Department
The Engineering Department is composed of the Machining Division and the Finishing Division. The Machining Division performs 3-axis and 5-axis NC machine processing based on processing programs and flowcharts created by the Design Department and drawings provided by the customer. The Finishing Division polishes, assembles, and adjusts the machined parts. This department conducts thorough process inspection to ensure on-time delivery, process control, and quality. The department strives every day to realize high-quality and high-efficiency manufacturing.

Engineering Department

Quality Assurance Department
A Quality Engineering Department that promotes QMS.
In addition to performing final pass/fail inspection for products, the department implements various measures for constructing a strict inspection system. For example, the department periodically performs in-house calibration of measuring instruments, maintains inspection records and acceptance inspection records for all products, and retains/manages records related to countermeasures for non-conformance, correction, and prevention. The department constantly works to maintain the quality of products.

Development Department
Based on the concept of avoiding overdependence on the skills of engineers and creating "a system which realizes identical quality and production time regardless of the user," this department is in charge of all phases from proposing improvements to R&D and actual system operation. The department is developing a variety of systems, including an automatic design system which is used to create drawings and 3D CAD data simply by entering parameters, and internal development of an NC program post which will eliminate the need for manual finishing by improving the surface roughness achieved by simultaneous 5-axis machining.
